    Rangefinders???????????

I am looking to get a rangefinder that is accurate but do not want to spend a crazy amount of money. Any Suggestions on what I might want to get. Please help me out with your input.

Save your money and get a good one. If you get a cheap one you will regret it. Leupold RXIV

I agree. I went the cheap route the first time with a Bushnell 450 sport and it was dead after 2 years.

Spend a little on the front end and get one that lasts.

I've had a bushnell Yardagepro for over 10 years. Still going. I don't use it much on whitetails because I usually kill them under 20 yards and knowing the range is not important. However, when hunting elk it's used almost as much as my GPS. I don't think you have to break the bank to get a good one.

Look at the nikons. I have the 440 that was discontinued this year. You can find them real cheap on ebay. Works well and is small. Excellent for bowhunting and it will range through mesh.

I have had a Bushnell since 1998 and it is still going strong. Used it almost EVERY day for about 5 years. It has had a lot of use.

The Leupold is the way to go. Its a little more pricie than the Nikkon or the Bushnell but you'll love it. I have had all three, 440 ydg "joke" (hated that one) and the leupold. Don't short yourself.

Left mine outside one night in the rain, and the next day it was working perfectly. They're relatively inexpensive and work very well. Works for target shooting, whitetails, and on pronghorns. I don't hunt in places where I will need angle adjustment or anything like that, so I kept it simple, cheap, and effective.

Yeppers! I've had mine now about 7 years and it is still going strong and I believe I've changed the battery 2, maybe 3 times! I've had no problems with my Bushnell and am completely happy with it.

My son bought his Saturday at Academy. It is also a Bushnell. It was on sale for $129 from regular price of $149. Wally World sells the same one for $156.98. It is good to 400 yards on reflective targets and about 200 on deer which renders it useless reallyl for rifle hunting but all he needs it for is bow hunting and it works very well from 5 to 25 yards which is his maximum range right now. I don't see how you can go wrong for that price if it is for bow hunting only.

Trust me, I'm not going to say that it is the greatest on the market but for the $ it works very, very well!

I haven't had any notion of a problem with my Nikon 440. I don't know about the others, but the 440 even gives you half yard incriments on short yardages ... within bowhunting range. Not that it's important, but it's nice.

Until this one takes a poop, I doubt I'll buy another one.
