    Denver Whitewater Rafting???

Momma, my two boys, and I are going to Denver the end of July for vacation. Gonna take in a Rockies game, go to Pikes Peak, take in some scenery. They are wanting to go rafting. Does anyone have suggestions on where and what company to use. I am looking for something kinda tame, as I am getting old and don't want to have to fight for my life on vacation.

Browns Canyon is Colorado's #1 whitewater rafting trip! Launch from our convenient riverfront location for more river time, less shuttle time!

Going with these guys, in Browns Canyon this week. It is kinda tame, not floating the river tame, you cant drink beer. And it gets kind of chilly, but the scenery is great.

A buddy of mine just got back - they took a trip with AVA rafting in Idaho Springs. It was not mild - he said it was nuts. Water was 35 degrees and they were all tossed out of the raft a couple times .......

Tons of outfitters up there and good family times! July tends to be loooong after the melt west of Denver.......thus quite tame as compared to spring melt! Enjoy the ride, buy the float picture and admire the scenery .

Definately head up to canon city and go through browns. Then you can take fam to the bridge. Prison museum in canon city is pretty cool as well.

river runners in Buena Vista... they are my go to for folks that come up to visit. They have lots of family friendly floats, as well as class IV. Snowpack was light, so flows are a little low... but will still have a great time.

There's also several outfitters that run Clear a Creek that parallels I70 just west of Denver. Would be the closest option if time is a factor

We went on Saturday. The Arkansas was down, and pretty tame compared to when we went last year. Lots of teenagers out on it with summer, I think you could manage fine. I would check the water levels July, the river guide said something about having to purchase water to keep the river high enough to float for the summer. Noahs apparently is an off shoot of one of the Christian camps, if you are looking for something family oriented.

We fly out Saturday-still trying to decide. I am old and fat. I don't want to end up fighting for my life on vacation.
