Since the dang Trinity River has my East Texas stuff all messed up, I headed off to South Texas... Saw a lot of deer today too. The big boys ain't ready to play just yet. but we're whacking some does and I have a couple culls I'm going after... Killed my first deer with a rifle since 1995 this morning!! I have to say, it felt REAL GOOD too!! 187 yard head shot and she was DRT... Gonna be fresh backstrap and gravy now!!

Im all excited right now.. the does here are mostly bred, the acorns are finally all on the ground so they can get gone, the freeze killed a lot of the browse in the woods. We are getting past the full moon. Bucks are about to come home to live in a corn pile or food plot and get killable.

Hix, dont use that tag yet. you will regret it in two weeks.

Man I sure hope so. Never seen so many acorns.

Sitting here listening to acorns hit the top of the RV in leon county. In 20 years on this place this is the worst for deer activity I have ever seen.
