Anyone have a Tracker 2072 CC

Thinking about looking at getting one on the future. Not the prettiest boat but don’t have to worry about gelcoats and rot. I’d put a 150 on it instead of the 115. I’d be using it mainly for fishing the flats but also some fresh water stuff.

Anyone have any experience with them? Good,bad, and the ugly.

I think elliscountyhogs has one with the bowfishing deck that's for sale.

No experience ownership wise but I've fished out of one plenty of times, I would say it is a wise move to go with the 150 instead of the 115. Drafts shallow and can handle a decent amount of chop for an aluminum boat.

Ellis county does have one. It handles 5 people like a champ and still gets shallow. Pretty sure his has the 150

Had their 18 ft grizzly with a tunnel and 90hp. Worst boat I have ever owned cracked welds all over the boat rivits coming up over entire floor all within a year. They wanted to send it to Missouri to get the warranty work done on it and it was like pulling teeth to get them to do anything.

I have the 2072CC with a 150 on it. It’s been a great boat. I keep it on Lake Livingston, so I don’t really worry about running skinny, but it should do so with a decent load. I don’t think you’ll regret buying one.

I did structural warranty repair for Tracker Marine for the 5 state region, for a few years up to 2005.
Not sure what the new ones are like. But they have their problems up to that point. Most of their aluminum line did. Some models would have differing problems structural. Course I got to see all the bad boats. Not the good ones.

I had cracks on every weld around the tunnel. She would run skinny as I wanted to go but at the top of the tunnel and where it met the back is cracked like crazy. Ended up having an aluminum shop weld it all up and sold it as I was tired of dealing with it and trying to get them to fix it. I wouldn't recommend one of their boats to my worst enemy. Way to many other good aluminum boat manufacturers out there.

How does it run with that 150 on it?

High40s to low 50s with me and my wife and fishing gear, depending on chop. It is NOT a smooth riding rig in even marginal chop.

If I was looking at an aluminum shallow water boat, it would be the Xpress SWB. They make them up to 22', really solid boats and not bad on price either. I looked at a couple in Corpus and they're nice, I just didn't want an aluminum boat.
