    Sprinkler question.

My sprinkler system has 4 zones. One of the heads on zone 2 leaks water all of the time when not running. I'm thinking valve but it is only the one head. The rest on that zone don't do it. I'm baffled. What do y'all think?

Its your valve for that zone that is leaking. The head that is leaking is probably the lowest head in that zone.

Yeah if your valve was working properly then there would be no water coming out.

Not to be over simplistic, but couldn’t it just be a bad head? Depending on the style some have a rubber gasket where the top attaches to the tube above the riser. I’ve seen those gasket crap out like all rubber does when exposed to the elements

The zone valves turn on allowing water to flow to the heads. The heads don't have any pressure on them unless the valve is on or leaking (water bypassing the the valve). Its a valve.

You need a "y" spreader.. the Gornicke's have one

This is correct answer its the lowest head cap that one and the next one will leak. replace the valve.

Thanks for your help on the matter.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Had to go rescue my sister yesterday. She was broke down. I figured valve, but having only one head leaking was throwing me off. Thanks.

Go buy the exact valve and just replace the internals, simple as taking the screws out and swapping internals!

I can get the parts without buying the whole valve. I rebuilt them earlier this year and must not have got something right on this one. Or I got a bad part. I'll just rebuild it again. Thanks everyone. Even you too systemnt.
