The trip before we ate a seafood place a few blocks from the dock and I wasnt that impressed. Bobby recommended it, cant remember the name but it was a corner place and 2 story
best stop has the best boudain there is. Its worth and extra cooler just to stock up on the way home

Good luck! We are headed out to the islands towards the end of August. As said earlier, I would stop in Scott and go to Best Stop just north of 10. Load up on Boudain Balls, Boudain Egg Rolls, and Cracklins for snacking out on the boat. If you have the time, checkout The Blind Tiger in Biloxi, get yourself a Bushwhacker to end the night.

It's a little out of the way but Middendorf's in Slidell has some of the best catfish I've ever had, I agree with Quackerbox in regards to the 2 story restaurant in Biloxi it was mediocre at best. Good luck this week, we went a few years ago and had a good time but the fishing was tough that week. I'll go back again someday.

I might catch a little greif over this but.... Steamboat bills on the east side of Lake Charles has always been good to me... Good luck fishing, my trip was canceled this year due to weather. Get in the surf any chance you can and look for sign. We ended up catching a boat load last year underneath rafts of big mullet...firsts for everything I guess. Good luck and keep the sharks away!!

My group usually meets up at the Flyin' J in Orange at about 10:00 AM for the drive over... there are multiple vehicles coming from different parts of the area... so we aren't ready for lunch by the time we reach Lake Charles, BUT IF WE WERE, it would be a stop at Pat's of Henderson on the loop at Legion... That is my favorite restaurant in all of Louisiana! There are a LOT of good stops in the Lafayette area... Cajun Blake turned me on to Bon Temps and it's REAL good... just not very convenient for a pass thru lunch... If you want to eat a bit later on, there's always Mike Anderson's at the Holiday Inn right on the freeway in Gonzalez... bout an hour n a half past Lafayette... just past Baton Rouge... IN Baton Rouge the original Mike Anderson's is right up there with the best. It's on College just South of the freeway about 10 minutes...
In downtown Lafayette, Don's is hard to beat too... Again, just not close to the freeway... A 15-20 minute side trip in Lafayette will get you a bunch of choices.
