As some of you know, I started THE MAN CLUB a little over a year ago at my church. Man Club exsists to pair boys who don't have a male role model in their lives with Godly men to teach them.....all manly things! Anyhow, i have gotten a new boy. He's 14 his family is quite poor and, though he hasn't gotten many chances, he LOVES hunting. His dad is out of the picture and his mom is in the middle of chemo treatments. I am wondering if anybody has a used youth bow that could go up to 40ish lbs as to hunt hogs or coons with. We have a little bit of money in the fund so we could pay for a 'discount' bow. Anyhow, ANYTHING at all in this field (including prayer) would be greatly appreciated. Please help get a young man into the wonderful sport of archery. Thank you guys for all of your help! God Bless!

Alien77721,
Since Bownanza is coming up soon(I assume you are going) why not have the bowhunters with "extra donation gear" bring it along for your group or any others that are deserving and in need?
The donations would be in one location for distribution and NO SHIPPING hassles and costs involved.
What do you think?

Search the recent Bownanza threads for the latest. It is scheduled for March, second weekend I think.
Lots of great food ,there is a shooting range within walking distance.
It is in the Bryan/College Station area in a place called Austin Colony.
Maps, teams, times, etc. are all forthcoming or....like I said in the previous Bownanza threads.
See you there. I am going to ask some of my hunter friends that may not be able to attend to donate some things for me to bring along. You may want to clarify your actual needs....# of boys, ages, expierence ,etc. to help define what is truely needed. I hope you have a bow press or a local bow shop handy. You will need it to put some of the expected parts/equipment together.

I have 2 boys under my wing right now. The newby will be the 3rd. The other 2 I'm hanging with have had bows donated and are set! I go to The Archery Shop in Victoria. The guys up there are very willing to helping out monetarily with this project. We could always use better equipment! God Bless you all. I am again humbled by the Love of Christ we all have burning in us!

I'll tell her when she wakes up. We got in from hunting this morning, she set her bow in the office and she went right to bed.
She had the jelly-neck thing going in the stand this morning it was pretty funny.
