It's written so that no one can understand it, therefore the DOT can bend people over and rob them as they see fit. They are stealing money, and have been for decades.

      This ain't that difficult folks...

Look at page 1-1 of this publication...

I'm towing a 5th wheel travel trailer for personal use... it has a 12,300 pound GVWR..

      I tow it with a F350 Dually which has a 14,000 GVWR....

Together they gross 26,300 pounds... in order to pull my trailer with my dually I have to have a CLASS A EXEMPT NON-CDL Driver's License.. Period…

Because it is for PERSONAL USE... NON-BUSINESS RELATED I DO NOT need a CDL... Period...

If my dually had a GVWR of 13,700 pounds or my trailer had a GVWR of 11,999 pounds I would NOT need any thing but a CLASS C license..

CDL comes into play when you start using your truck and trailer for commercial use... and yes.. Delivering hay you SOLD or hauling horses to the track, or to round up cows for pay... you is NOW commercial.. you ain't FARM or PERSONAL no more..
