We leased a place once because we saw recent photos of two bucks from the neighbors place. One was a 180 low fence no protein deer. Open cattle pasture that bordered our thick brushy pasture.
Best decision ever! 25 years later it’s srill producing great deer.

We leased a 2,000 acre ranch once outside of Lampassas. Turns out all the adjoining places were 10 acre ranchettes and you can bet that every one of them had a feeder in the back yard. We tried to make it work but there was a lot of competition from all the neighbors. Gave up after 2 years and moved on. Can't say I blame then. I'd probably do the same if I lived there.
