Biggest issue is that they aren't snorkeled or set up for deep water due to low intake area. As far as just getting through mud, no issues. It will go through what the other utvs will, but like stated just not as fast. The mule does not have a front diff lock, only the rear. But it isn't a problem, I've had mine in some stuff that i was already getting the winch ready, but it got through it.

Well now I'm undecided. Thought the Ranger would come out on top here but now I need to reconsider & look at the Mule.

Just get whatever you prefer that has features that will fit your use....

I've owned a few rangers and been around plenty of the others. All the modern ones are built pretty well.

I had a Mule 610 and loved it. No problems with it at all but I wanted one with 2 seats. Sold the 610 to another TBHer and got a Mule 4010 Trans. I love it just as much and not afraid to take it anywhere. Never been stuck but did get the 610 high centered once.

                      UTV Questions

I had a Polaris Crew.....loved it except the dealer had it three(3) times for overheating. Polaris wouldn’t cover it under warranty because dealer couldn’t get it to throw a code but agreed with all evidence that it had overheated.

Sold to a guy and told him about overheating issue....took to a different dealer and it turned out radiator cap was not sealing.

Bought a Kawasaki Pro FXT and loved it except it needs the heavy duty springs and a lift. The suspension sags bad with any kind of load in it even without four (4) or six(6) people in it.

Fast forward...after about six(6) months I took to an authorized Kawasaki dealer to have a lift and the heavy springs installed.

The back shocks came out of the fittings two(2) weeks ago going down the road. Original shocks. Dealer says they shouldn’t unscrew themselves but Kawasaki won’t warrant due to lift kit which they said imparted stress on the shocks and caused the failure which also bent the frame the lift attaches to.

So I used an authorized Dealer to install all components....Factory says warranty voided and Dealer says not their fault even though they didn’t tell me the lift would void the warranty.

Looks like I’m changing to a different brand again because in my opinion....the Mule can’t handle anywhere near the load it says it can without the heavy springs and ground clearance is very limited (with a load) without a lift kit.
