While it is still a good ways out, anything is possible. I mean, look at the wild path Harvey took making landfall twice and the devastation it caused. I certainly hope that NEVER happens again, but we need to keep am eye on this. They are truly unpredictable. Just be prepared and watch the models as they come out
Truly unpredictable is correct. As others have pointed out, the GFS on its recent run has this one hitting the upper Texas coast as a cat 2 storm next weekend. It has been picking up on this system the past few days. It had Florida, then Alabama, next was New Orleans and now Texas.
The European says not gonna happen and shows hardly anything around the same time period. We are just going to have to give this one till the beginning of next week.
