    looking for a dog

hope to be getting a new house dog pretty soon,,, loved our miniature Schnauzer ,, but we had to give him away after loosing our home in the Harvey flood... we really want another but the local breeder has gone nuts on prices so we are considering other breeds,,,, we even talked about a standard poodle today.,..... we have 4 grand kids and they spend a lot of time at the house,, it needs to be a hypo allergenic as a first priority,, and it does need to be good with kids..... ( i really want to bring my boxer back inside but he does shed a good deal and the youngest child would never be able to come over...

does any one have good info on the standard poodle and know anywhere we can get one..... or another miniature schnauzer on a retires budget...... we would prefer a puppy

Go find a shelter dog that needs a home. I promise it will be the best dog you’ve ever had.

Since you had to give the last one away, consider adopting one this time.

We have had pure bred dogs in the past and are now on our second shelter dog. The mixed breed shelter dogs have far fewer health problems.

Or use a poodle/doodle rescue. I have a 110lb goldendoodle rescue who is the sweetest biggest bear-like non shedding companion and a 50lb standard poodle both from a rescue group. Both great dogs. I e had three standard poodles all from rescues.

maybe you should consider the entire thread,, I lost my complete home, shop, 2 cars, a new tractor. income, clothes, furniture TV's computers,, even 2 of my 6 dogs in the flood... a young couple from church kept him for us because for 4 months we lived in a 20' travel trailer,,,,, for the dogs sake we let the couple keep him because they clearly enjoyed him and he was happy with them,,,,,, so did your response in anyway help?
