Definitely worth it! Especially with 2 dogs.

I'm embarrassed to share this has happened twice in our home. And it ain't pretty.
The next day and I'm still laughing over the visual from this!

I have had 2 Neato's D80s. First one had a bad lidar motor (common issue) and was fixed by Neato under warranty (They shipped a new one and I shipped the old one back in the box). The second one has died with the same issue and is out of warranty. These vacuums have mapping (lidar) and do a great job going back and forth covering an area. Id buy another if it was cheaper.

Im looking at the Xaiomi Roborock. Its $250 when its on sale, has mapping, wifi, etc. This one is supposed to do just as well as the top end Roomba and Neato. It also comes with a lithium battery which the cheaper of the Neato's and Roombas dont. Bad part is they come from China (shipped from China, all brand are made there).
It took me a long time to figure this out...the mapping...so now my question is....do I really need mapping? Seems the majority of units sold are not mapping. The Roomba 690 and Eufy 11s are not, and those are the two units I'm considering because they are low cost and I'm a cheapskate.

Look at craigslist. A lot of the times you can find a barely used one for $100-150. It will let you give it a go at a cheaper price point anyhow.

The robots should self map and you can modify areas not to go. Do you need mapping? No, but it just doesnt do as good of a job. I need it to do a good job with 2 saint bernards. I get dog hair tumbleweeds in my house.

                  This is the difference:

Didn't have time to read through it all, so pardon me if it's been asked.... How do these do in carpeted rooms? We have a husky that likes to burrow under our bed at night to sleep and currently trying to clean that hair out from under the bed is impossible without moving the bed.

We have one and it works good until it gets stuck under couch or entertainment center. I need to make something to put on top of it so that it can't go under furniture.
