Do not buy anything that says lifetime warranty, because there is no such thing. I just found that out. When whoever quits making that product, whether it's a year or when ever that when the life time warranty ends. So don't expect getting anything in return.

Had an employee that works at BP here in Colo Sprgs tell me the other day that the big picture plan is Cabelas will be the hunting section and Bass Pro will be the fishing section. Don't know how that will pa. Out. I usually just go there to look and then buy or order from a local shop.

Cabelas has deff been on the decline
And their customer service snd lifetime warranties have gone to crap for sure since the buyout
        Hello academy
You won’t find better selections, brands, or customer service at Academy.
They are slowly replacing most of their inventory with their Magellan brand and slowly turning into a Dicks Sporting goods.

All of the box stores are in trouble. It only makes sense that sooner or later service and selection will go or has gone down... No way you can compete with online retailers selling the same stuff but without the investment in the store front and personnel ... I remeber the old Gibson's Stores... you could go in there for hours and dream of being able to buy all of their stuff...

Its not Cabelas but my family and I visited the Bass Pro Shop in Pearland. I know Bass Pro owns Cabelas and everything but I wasn't expecting to see Cabelas merchandise in the Bass Pro store! Same experience though, had to hunt down employees for help and they only knew where items were. No knowledge of the product what so ever. I still like and go to their stores though. I'd rather look and hold the item in my hand before I buy online.

I was just there last month. Looked alright to me? Then again, I always just really enjoy visiting those trophy rooms.

There is a Gibson's in Kerrville. Looks just like the one I grew with in San Antonio in the 60's / 70's Lots of cool stuff in the store.
