Do you think he's got potential?

Just got a TC late this season, kinda excited to see some nice young deer. Never seen him during the day. TC are pretty cool.

    What do you think? 1.5?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Me too, I'm thinking older than 2 1/2. He could still become a nice buck, but I don't see him becoming a big book type buck. In a year or two with a bow he would be a great bow buck!

No way that deer is 1.5. He can make a decent deer but he will never be a trophy.

What would lead you to believe tha deer at 2.5 would never be a trophy? Looks like a good young year. It is amazing what deer will do from 2.5 to 3.5

It hard to tell much at all from that one picture, but I think at least 2.5.

                      Especially with some rain.

I don't know that he is not 3.5 due to the angle. I think probably 2.5 but his hams and neck look fairly developed and I would like a better angle at his belly and head/face.

The deer hardly looks like he was hurting for food and yet with those pencil horns, it is simply my opinion that he may be a quality deer but not a trophy.

Thats what I was thinking, but its just a hunch. If anything it makes some interesting conversation.

Keep it coming guys, maybe with enough ammo I can get the rest of the family to do some QDM.

                            What about this guy?
This photo was taken 3 days prior. I'm posting this so we can get a general idea of other deer on the property, and what they have to eat/drink. Dont know if it helps, but just trying to learn about age and size.
I know they are not monster deer, but with a little help, who knows?
