Am I being unreasonable ??

I just had my 24x30x14 shop insulated with closed cell insulation. I am very happy with the job and the price. I asked them if they painted also and they said no but would get a friend of his to give me a quote. Well.... the quote came back at 3000.00. That is more than the insulation cost. I told him his friend was on crack and no thanks. Am I being unreasonable. Surely people aren`t paying this much for a paint job.

It's a foam. Lots of folks will paint it black or dark gray

If you think it is too high, get another quote or do it yourself. Not sure what that has to do with being unreasonable or not. I definitely would not pay that to have a building that size painted

Is there a special kind of paint that has to be used so it doesnt eat at the foam or chemically break it down?

What's the cost of other materials, tools & equipment?

What's the cost of Labor?

I don't know about unreasonable but $3k sounds in the ballpark to me-- maybe a little high but not on crack crazy. He's probably busy and doesn't need the work.
I just paid $4k for my house and shop - probably 15k square feet. It was a two-day job.
Get another bid.
