People have been hunting and trapping hogs in Texas for a long time and the only visible effect is more hogs. I like hunting and eating them, but if there is any evidence that hunting hogs reduces numbers, then I haven't seen it.

Put a real bounty on them and watch the numbers drop drastically.

It must be different in your neck of the woods. In the SHNF, pigs are pretty much in any river bottom, all of which are hunt-able, day or night.

It's very different... The hogs are all over the river vegas here too but the hunting areas are all further down river in what is the actual lake. No hogs there yet... And no hunting permitted on the river vegas although most fall into park property.
