Great hunt! Beautiful scenery
I always enjoyed the glassing from the boat & stalk on the shore bear hunts.
The ones I’ve done were north of Juneau & then 1 brown bear hunt in your direction just off Admiralty Island
These bear use other animals as eyes and ears! Had a PERFECT one at 70 yards on the beach. We beached the boat downwind at 100 yards and approached. Didn’t notice the two geese nested between us and the bear. He had positioned himself upwind of those geese! Busted!! Wanted to drill the friggin goose.
We stopped last night about 8 pm to take a potty break on shore. Heard some geese making a terrible racket on the beach in some rocks. Glassed it a saw a wolf making a move on them. We put a stalk down the beach and waited for him to come in. The dang anchored skiff starts banging against rocks where we left it about 200 yards away. The wolf hears it and hangs up. He won’t come any closer. We hit the timber line and and crawl to try to close the distance and ambush him from the tree line. Done!
My sight level burst (plane pressure?) on the way here. Guide noticed I’m torquing bow big time and my shots are off. So hit the beach to work the kinks out during lunch.
