    For The Techies--

Our home router is not gone but is just outdated. Anyone have a suggestion for a replacement?

Do you need a router or can you get a wireless modem from your ISP?

          Apple AirPort Time Capsule....
Acts as wireless router & backup device for the Apple and Windows devices (not sure about Android).

We called our ISP (AT&T) and just asked them what they could do for us. They mailed us a new one and had us return the old one. Problem solved!

That does not work where there are no “providers”!

Edit: I was thinking cable! We do have internet out here, but they aren’t giving us anything!!!!

This is the one I bought 1.5 years ago
                    https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Wirel...+ac1900+router

I don't remember ever even having to reset it once. we are 100% streaming with 2 teenage daughters. = lots of gadgets.

I bought mainly for the range and budget. I'd buy again in a hearbeat. 3k sq ft home spray foamed and no dead zones. excellent range. goes 100'+ around the yard too.

went looking for a faster router with powered antennas, this one fit the bill.

                    they also have this one
                    https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Wirel...+ac1900+router

I thought it was the same just white in color. ordered it for my in-laws after my success story. while still a good router, it does not have the range mine does. I would guestemate range is cut in half. they have 1/2 the house and older home, almost no outside coverage, and far end of the house isn't strong.

so get the black one, black has powered antennas, white doesn't.

also, one of the best features (which I think most routers now offer) is the guest wifi. you can easily setup a guest network with limited (or not) abilities for others to get on without having them use your main password.
