My comment on the blades was because mine didn’t last very long. I have a very uneven 3 acre yard and a lot of rocks that kick up when I turn sometimes and they get under the mower and are hard on the blades. Good Luck!

I have a hustler raptor SD 54 with the Kawasaki engine. Mower is a beast and cost right at 4K.

I replaced the blades a month ago after 2 years. Been a great mower. I had a spindle go bad, didn’t even know it and hustler replaced the entire deck under warranty. There was nothing wrong with the deck, but I’m not going to complain about their decision. The customer service from the local dealer and hustler has been great. I’d buy the mower again in a heartbeat, but would buy a 60 this time.

This will be the 4th year on it. I wasn’t gonna spend $5k on a mower but was tired of the Craftsman/Cub Cadet/MTD junk. You don’t have to have a welded deck if you keep it clean.

I have never understood why folks need a $8-$10k lawnmower to mow their residential yard once a week but it’s not my money either.

I have a 54" Husqvarna. They are the only non commercial mower that I have seen that have spindles that you can grease. I believe that this greatly improves the life span of the mower deck components.

I have a Craftsman zero turn with a 46" deck. It's 4 years old now and no problems. I wash it after every use and still looks like new.

I agree with this to an extent but a quality branded mower will out last a 799 special from homelowessupply every time.

In the 4 years I've had my hustler the neighbor has been thru 2 red ones and a cub cadet. Two they have literally blown up

I have a Husqvarna 48" when I was shopping 3 years ago, I looked at Craftsman. The Craftsman had everything the Husqvarna did including the stamped deck and reinforce leading edge of the deck. Both also had the coating under the deck. Three years later I still check under the deck for grass sticking and have never found any. No need to wash when its already clean. In my opinion, the only difference between Craftsman and they Husqvarna was the color. Even the warning stickers were the same. The Husqvarna was cheaper from Lowes than the Craftsman was so I bought the Husqvarna.

                I’ve got a 54” Craftsman (Snapper) in the classifieds for 1500.00. 2 1/2 years old, 100 hrs.
                Runs great!

3 acres of lawn to mow . I looked high and low for a commercial mower . I bought a hustler HD with the Kawi engine off of CL from a company that went out of business . So my 9800 mower cost me 5400. with only 60 hours on it .

Cost vs low term maintenance.. I build harley for a lving so I truly understand the way to do a job once and done .. pay now or pay later ..

For me as well time is money I work 6 days a week so a residential Z mower vs mine vs ground speed HA HA that is funny .

Mine will cut grass WO all day long and not bog , goes plenty fast . I can get the job done quickly and move on other chores ..

I feel each person will have different needs .. GS for mine is 15 guy acorss the street has the cheap version from the big box store and its no where near as fast , again for some that is not a big deal

I have had several motorized (electric and gas) powered tools from Craftsman and will not buy another. I have had parts break under warranty, get it fixed only to find they have new and improved parts but you have to buy them. If not, they will put the old (but new) unreliable parts back on. Then eventually have to replace it again. I have had that happen with a tiller, riding mower, table saw and compressor. When I was younger Craftsman had the reputation of being good reliable tools. That applied to hand tools only. Now even Craftsman wrenches are not the quality they once were.
