Shot a nock off now what?

I shot a nock off yesterday and was wondering the best way to get it out? Screw a screw into it and pull it out with pliers? Thanks Jason Slocum

pliers would work. Make sure to check the shaft closley to make sure it wasn't damaged as well.

Usually when that has happened to me, the shaft was cracked next to the nock, and I usually trashed the arrow.

If it's carbon, make sure you check the arrow REAL close!! For that matter, if it's carbon, it should pull out with your fingers.

If it is carbon it should pull out easily with a screw...

Question not is if it is slightly damaged on the nock end, why can't it be stripped down and flipped over. Then use epoxy to set the insert which will hold the carbon fibers together as well as the insert.
            Just a thought...

I won't shoot a carbon arrow with any sign of a split anywhere, period. I pray when I shoot good ones.

Wow, the pics are over the top! That was the first bit of advice my brother gave me when I started shooting with a bow. He was my converter from the dark side. He quickly mentioned if a carbon shaft gets knicked or if you think that your arrow may of hit an embedded field point, retire the arrow. Also make sure your children are well behind you if you are shooting.

Hold on a minute...I have never seen nor heard of this.

Not meaning to Bogart your thread, but you all have me scared. I like my hands and arms the way that they are. Do you truly not shoot carbon? Do you retire them after a kill?

How do you keep this from happening?

Man, need apublic announcement on this one!

First you visually check for cracks and such. Then I roll it between my fingers next to my ear. Listen for any crackling sounds, especially right at the end. If I see something or hear something, in the trash it goes.

Is this similar to shooting your sockss off?

If they are that dangerous then why shoot them?
I'll keep shooting my aluminum shafts...
