    Kingwood concrete work needed

My daughter and son in law just moved into a home in the kingwood area and are in the process of installing a hot tub. The slab is only 8'x9' and the quote she received was an 8'x9'x 9" thick slab for $2500.00 wit 3/8" rebar. I think the concrete will have to be wheel barrowed into the back yard. Included in the bid is tearing out a small wooden deck. She has only had one bid so far. Can anyone recommend another reputable contractor in the area? Thanks

They haven't gotten the exact weight of the hot tub plus gallons yet but are working on it. I think they are getting lessons on life now.

Then they will pay 3 times as much to have it removed. Removed a lot of hot tub slabs in my landscaping days. Put the hot tub on a deck with blocks.

I don't think you will need a 9" thick slab. A 4" slab with a grade beam should be ok. Grade beam 12" wide 18" deep. If you have a good solid pad under it.

They are adding on to an existing slab and the old hot tub has been removed already.
