Solutions for target panic of young NASP shooters

Buddy of mine coaches elementary NASP archers and finds some are releasing their arrows (Genesis bows) before even coming to full draw. Seems like classic target panic. Looking for any tips to prevent this.

Kids are members of state champion team, btw, so they know what they should do. Question is: how do they fix it before nationals?

    Thanks for any help.

Aiming drills. Don’t allow them to shoot an arrow. Call me if you want. I helped fix a nasp shooter of this a couple months ago.

Thank you, sir. I'll pass your number along to my buddy, Jim.

He's been a little mystified about it -- normally very good shooters, too.

Take a big breath and exhale, draw, count to three, release.

Draw, aim, let down-repeat, repeat, repeat, as long as it takes

Move up/back to 3 yards and do it.

Then actually draw, anchor, aim, and release at 3 yards, but with no spot on the target. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Put a large spot (volleyball sized) spot on the target and do it again.

Smaller spot, smaller, smaller until same as the NASP target

Back up to 10 yds and repeat any steps needed.

Back up to regulation distance and repeat.

Worked for me, and I'm an old toot that had lots of bad habits.

Follow the 11 steps, to the "T".
