Help with food quantity’s for party

I’m planning our end of the year party for the 4-H Rifle Team. According to rsvp this will be our biggest one yet, 105 people. Probably 50/50 adult/kids. What do y’all suggest for:
    Hamburgers
    Hot dogs
    Tomato’s
    Lettuce

Two things are going to happen when cooking burgers and dogs for a large group of people.

Either you'll run out of one or the other

    OR

You'll have a lot of one left over, most likely hotdogs.

You can't guarantee everyone will want a burger, but the vast majority will.

    Breaking it down on people:

105 people (rounding it to 100 and hoping all 105 show up and not counting on more people to possibly show up at the last minute)

Half of the adult men will have either two burgers or a burger and a hotdog. The other half will have either a burger or two dogs.

Adult women will eat about the same as a kid. Either one burger or 1-2 hotdogs.

My guesstimate for plenty of food, with leftovers would be:

100 burger patties (25-35# of meat if not buying pre-made patties)
    80 hotdogs
12 tomatoes - not everyone likes tomatoes. Figuring 80% do, you can get about 6 slices out of a tomato. That's enough for about 70 burgers
5 heads of lettuce. One head of lettuce will do about 20 burgers if only using one leaf per burger.

All of this is assuming no "big" sides like tater salad or baked beans, only chips, etc.

I agree with the Pizza idea. I would talk to Pizza Hut and see if they will give you a deep discount for the pizza since its for the 4-H

Pizza. Burgers are too much trouble. For 100 guest better plan on 150 patties and 150 buns . 8 heads of lettuce, 12 - 14 big tomatoes, mayo, mustard, pickles, relish. Ketchup utensils. For pizza you just need pizza

            Brian,

Have you ever cooked burgers for 100 people?

It would take at a minimum 4 people with 4 big grills to accomplish this. Not to mention the time and room for prep, room to cook and room to serve.

A perfect example is Bownanza. Think about how many people are on a "cooking" team (actually cooking and not b.s.ing). When they have to start preparing and then start cooking. It's easier to smoke (brisket, pork butts) for 100 people than it is to "cook" for 100 people.

It may not be a bad idea to have a "Team Little Caesar's"
