Winchester Gun Safe customer service

My wife bought me an electronic Winchester safe a few years ago. Wouldn't have been my first choice, but oh well, it was a present.
The keypad is apparently on the fritz and wouldn't let me in. Called Winchester and they said they "might" be able to troubleshoot over the phone. They close at 4:00 every day and that's when I get off work... Wife called and was at the safe so they gave her a super secret code and it opened!! But the keypad is defective and safe is out of warranty. Winchester extended the warranty free of charge and sent a new keypad assembly for free as well.
Kudos to them for going above and beyond!!
I'll install tonight...

We had to give them some info first. Our name, serial number, phone number, first born, etc...

I'm on the same path. I quit smoking right before cook off back in march and went to a vape pen. Lost it a couple wknds back. Didn't replace it. Glad I did. The wife almost killed me in Hawaii hiking!!

Good to hear. I was the inside sales manager for Winchester Safes a while back and always had good things to say about our CS department.

As far as the comments about the "support" desk person having a code, all manufactures have this in place. When the locks are ordered from the manufacturer a master list of override codes are provided as well. This is for cases just like this and also instances when people die and their spouse, kids, etc need to access the safe for documents and such. However, this information is not provided until verification is done that the person requesting the info is the actual owner of the safe. In the case of a death we required a copy of the death certificate to prove that the owner did indeed pass before we would release the information to their spouse or kids.
