    Mark IV Lite thoughts

I'm looking to buy a new 22 pistol. I hear lots of good reviews about this pistol (online, you tube, etc.). How easy it is to break down/clean, how it shoots, how its truly designed to be a rim fire pistol (as opposed to a center fire design-modified, etc). Have handled it and love the feel (and yes its very lite). Would appreciate anyone's thoughts (good or bad) about this? Along with any thoughts on holsters and or sights/add-ons. Thank you

Bought one for my son for him to shoot competitions with me. That thing is nails right out of the box. Below is his first string fresh out of the box at 7 yards.

After his first competition shoot I went to Tandemkross and got him new fiberoptic sights, an extended mag release button and a "halo" for ease of charging. Also had the guys at On Your 6 Designs build him a kydex holster for both the pistol and spare magazines.

And if you do get one, be "careful" when you break it down to clean it. When you press the button to release the "upper" from the "lower" make sure you're holding the "upper". It's not a true "hinge" holding it at the pivot point, and if you're not careful, you'll drop it.

I got the mark 4 22/45 tactical over the lite cause I wanted the solid bull barrel versus shrouded aluminum. Been happy with it so far as a suppressor platform.

I got the tactical as well for suppressed shooting. I did the tandem kross flat trigger upgrade, and the volquarsten trigger spring upgrade. Love the upgrades and would highly recommend them. Shooting suppressed it gets dirty really quick. With a freshly cleaned gun I can shoot about 250-300, and I start having fte’s, but a quick wipe with my finger I can go through another 150-200 rounds with 10-15 fte’s. It’s a great gun and I’d recommend buying one.

Just got a new one last week. Very accurate. Trigger needs work. The mags are junk. I loaded up 3 mags and set them in my cup holder on the way to go shoot. By the time I got there, half of the rounds had fallen out. Each gave feeding issues where the bullet would push up at a hard angle. Seems they arent applying smooth pressure. Supposedly a very common problem and you can smooth them out.

Haven't done it yet but following this video is supposed to fix it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL1rIj43sGA

I bought one about a month ago. Love it. Shoots great, no problems at all. With my old eyes, it is hard to see the black sights. I put some white on them and it helps a lot, but would love to find some fiber optic sights for it.

I bought one a few weeks ago as well to shoot suppressed. Haven't shot it yet though. I am thinking about putting a red dot on mine since it has the rail already.

I dont have experience with the "lite" but bought a Mk iv Competition and it is awesome. I put a Burris FastFire on it because my eyes arent what they used to be. All I can say is I had no idea I am this good of a shot

The trigger was terrible, and the mag safety irritated me so I did a trigger job and milled off the notch for the mag safety. So much better its stupid.

                            Lite

I bought a Lite about 2 years ago and had nothing but trouble out of it, It was the worst lead fouling barrel ive ever had. The mags had issues and after 100 rounds or so it would pressure up from lead in the barrel. You could literally peel strips of lead out of it. Now that one may have been an oddity and all of the rest are good to go, but I traded mine off and went back to my old MKII bull barrel. I have heard that the barrels were very finicky due to the tension on them.

A couple of kids in our 4H club have them. They are super easy to work and clean. The only problem I see is that they actually have a little recoil compared to the standard weight ruger pistols. The very small kids are the only ones that notice the recoil.
