My two favorites February-April are a Texas rigged lizzards (watermelon red, watermelon purple and watermelon seed) and a swimbait like Reaction Innovations skinny dipper on a lightly belly weighted hook. As the fish transition to fry guarding and post spawn my two favorites are a squarebill crankbait and a yellow magic topwater (in lowlight conditions). Weightless or nail weighted super fluke or trick worm also produce well.

I have a boatload and garage full of baits but those are top producers.

I like swim baits and trick worms, they've been working for me lately pond fishing. Fly fishing, clousers or congo hair baitfish patterns

We have been fishing Texas rigged chigger craws and zoom u-tail worms.

Watermelon red is my color of choice.

Shakey head rigged with a black senko or watermelon red senko. Deadly combination!
