    Cutting torch?

Anybody have recommendations on which Victor torch set to get? I can’t figure out whether the handle and fittings are significantly different or not. I won’t be using it to make a living from but I also don’t want to get something that I will have to upgrade later. Looking at the Medalist 250, Medalist 350, or Performer sets. Journeyman is outside of my price range and is probably more than I need. Mainly need it for cutting and a rosebud for bending rod and strip for projects.

Haaa, I was going to say go with the Journeyman. Look on the used market and see what you can come up with (Craigslist or pawn). For your current application, it seems one of the entry level set-ups would be adequate and could buy that new and may never feel the need to upgrade.

Try your local welding supply stores. A lot of times someone will send them in for repair and never come back to pick them up and they can most times be bought for the repair costs.

Exactly. I think we have one up front currently that is this exact scenario.

I run a Journeyman as well. Most people do so borrowing tips or parts on the job is easy

It doesn't make a lot of difference which you buy but I would get the one with the longest tubes on the head. It makes it much easier for cutting long or curvy cuts.
