You need something durable. Not something built for a day at the beach.
Check out the Milwaukee job radio. AM/FM plus bluetooth. It is very durable, sounds great, very loud and can charge/run on Milwaukee 12V or 18V tool batteries also in addition to AC power.
Every small bluetooth speaker I have had went bad at the mini USB port from falls with cable in to plugging it in with no finesse and they are not built for dust and water. These are rugged devices that last.
