A boy and his tortoise!

My girlfriend was playing around on the computer last night, and I asked what she was doing. She said she was on page 8 of a tortoise rescue application. Huh? I am guessing they are pretty low maintenance?

Very. He eats the natural grasses and weeds in our back yard. Ours does like to dig, but he has a burrow and that's usually the only spot so it's not bad. And during the winter we feed him romaine lettuce, carrots, broccoli, and little fruit

Full grown he 'll b about the size of a trash can lid and crazy strong. Like u can ride him around strong. My buddy had one. He gave it to another friend and that other friend still has it 20yrs later. They're pretty cool animals

hes been known to rearrange our patio furniture and flip over our grill before! lol

will try and get some this afternoon once im home. his winter time house is nothing fancy as im not a carpenter. just something thrown together quickly for this year. ill build him a bachelor pad this summer though.

I rode one in Kenya back in my college days. This thing was huge though.........not sure if that is the same species. It would be a interesting pet but doubt my beagle would cotton to it!

His quick thrown together house with cheap walmart floor mats. Believe it or not they help hold the heat in. His heat bulb is ceramic, so it only produces heat. Made his house around the top of an old dog kennel so it could be pulled out and cleaned. His burrow is next to my shop and curves away from the slab
