Ash wood on bobcat mount spitting out powder

    OK,
I got this bobcat mounted on what appears to be ASH , but I am not sure. Killed this in 2013 and got mount back in 2014. so its been in house for 4 years.

Every spring and fall it "spits" out this very fine powdery dust. this landed on the floor, but sometimes it lands on my desk and is a pain to clean.

Now my questions - Will this ever stop? Is this just from the branch, or maybe is there a boring bug that is doing this?

Any ideas of how to stop?

It won't have any wood left to be laying on here in the future. Bug problem, better take care of it quick!

any way to put some type of sealant on it? Maybe have taxi remove cat and apply some type of lacquer.

I'm thinking it is some kind of bug causing this.

Stick the whole thing under some sort of cover and light off a big bomb?

Have you looked for bugs in the Ash holes?

Wood bores - I used a syringe and injected bug killer in each hole to kill them. I put mine in freezer for 90 days and still did not kill them. Was told the wood needs to go in 300 degree kiln for absolute kill.

I would take it to the taxi and have a different type of wood put on it.

I had this happening as well. I did the suggested bug bomb in the trophy room and it has stopped.

It's hard to put up with pesky ash holes.

                            But it didn't work.

Take it to a taxi and have the wood replaced.

                            Good luck.

Fill each hole with Elmers. It will dry clear and seal up holes and cut off oxygen.
Or have Taxi change mount wood.
