    F150 Sunroof issue

Im having all sorts of issues with my sun roof and with only 33,000 miles Im going to take it in to have it fixed. Sometimes it wont open when I try, other times it opens then automatically closes itself, sometimes it wont even close when I try to close it, and sometimes when it closes the back moon roof seems to pop up a bit and air is coming through the gap. Today I went through a carwash and water was coming through openings on both ends into the track where it runs back and forth along with some splashing on the drivers headrest.

I have heard nothing but bad things trying to fix a sunroof and with me only 3,000 miles away from the warranty expiring was curious on what to expect from a dealership? Bought the truck through Texas Direct Auto and will be taking it to a dealership here in San Antonio.

First time taking a truck in for a issue so just looking for any advice and what not.

    Thanks

I personally don’t own one but I have a 250 that’s had horrible electronical issues and my bosses f150 has been a major pain with some of the same issues. Id definitely get everything fixed you could while there’s some sort of warranty attached to the truck. Fixing new vehicles aren’t cheap.

What were you expecting when you bought a Ford!?[emoji23] Sorry! I'm no help, but I hope it works out for you.

        Similar issue with my 2012.
Closing the sunroof one day just before the warranty went out and heard a pop! The sunroof stopped closing and a small piece of plastic landed in my lap.
Had to force the sunroof closed and it would not re-open. ( I was not going to let it set overnight with the sunroof open.)
Took it into the Ford house and they said "yeah, we been having issues with those".
They replaced the complete track with an updated version.
I can tell because it has a different wind deflector than before.
Going on 110k miles and no more issues…
        Zero electrical issue on mine.

Think of the upside...at least it’s not leaking

One thing about sunroofs, if they don’t leak now, they will!!! I’ve owned 3 different vehicle with them! Don’t take them to the automatic car washes!! On my truck the motor burned out and I ended up sealing it with rtv. Never leaked again!
