Javelina tear up the cottonseed at our place - haven't found a way to keep them out of it.

This^^^^^. When I hunted in South Texas we had a tub we would place cotton seed in. Regurgitated cotton seed all over the place. Javelina and hogs on the game camera along with the deer pics as well. We figured it was the javelina or hogs doing this.
