Sounds like you're on the right track. Ponds are a lot of fun...enjoy.
I was always told 12-14" is good with 12" being perfect . So I figure if I give myself a deviation of 4-5" I'm good.

A friend of mine drained a 40 acre pond to redo/get the trash fish out of it a few years ago.

They used old telephone poles laid across each other & stacked, waste concrete piles, trees, and did a little dirt work to add some contour. I’m not sure where they got it all, but it seems to be working and holding up just fine.

They pumped it full out of the well instead of the ditch in attempt to keep trash fish out (for a while). It’s been producing some good fish.

I think if you can keep 12 you are doing good. It’s hard to keep up with all the factors that go into it. I personally think 10” is about right. That first round of the year you won’t get near that normally. The follow up dose will get you there.

I agree with that. I feel if I can keep it in those parameters were good. Good thing is dad saw the thread fins running the bank spawning and that's a good..... This would be our third yr of introducing threads. Them spawning is encouraging

Okay I’ve got some fish cover coming up!

Yep if your raising them to spawn size/age that's a good sign.

Man that's awesome! If I dug one that big my house would have to be on an island! lol Which thinking about it, wouldn't be such a bad thing to me. Nice pond man.
