Mississippi Bound!

Mary Jane and I are headed to the Mississippi river bottom in Southern Mississippi to hunt deer, hogs and gators. We may halso see some black bear which are protected by federal law. I've got my roll of TP, my Pearson recurve and my WORLD CLASS dog. LOL

We arrived last night in Lafayette, LA where we're hunting two days and then its on to Mississippi. I'll try to post pics as we go. Doc, I may need your help! Freak, I'm taking your famous ladder stand.

Anyway, I need a little TBH love and luck to get me there and back.

What are the seasons in Mississippi?

In Louisiana , I can bowhunt from Sept 20 - Feb 15 , depending on area

the LA wild Alligator season starts on the 1st Wednesday of Sept , and continues for 30 days

Pvt land owners may still have tags ??? ; however with temps in the 30's right now (South LA) I'm sure most all alligators have gone into hibernation

ducks/goose season runs thru Jan 25

Conservation order (geese with e-callers) runs from Jan 26 - Mar 8

Geese have become so educated with e-callers that they usually are all headed North by Feb 1

Good luck finding a gator this time of year and I would definetely question whether you can shoot one now whether you have a tag or not. I believe the season in Miss. is the same as Louisiana and ends in September. On a more positive not the deer should be rutting hard in the Miss. River Bottoms. So good luck there are some huge deer in that area.
