    bowstring and cables

When do you change out your bowstring and cables?

Got my bow in 2012 and have maintained the string with wax. Its kept inside the house, but concerned about its age.

I felt like I needed to do it last year, but hate getting set back up with a new string.

Will probably go with winners choice.

I'm the same way. I have a 2013 and the string looks new. My shop said it's time. No offense but you can do way better than WC.

      It's time.

I'm not sure how much you shoot. I change mine every 18 months or so but I try and shoot daily.

What your string looks like is only a small part of the equation. Your string/cable will stretch causing peep turn, poundage decrease, loss of level, change in ata length, loss of timing both rest and stops, and prolly a couple of other things I’m forgetting.

every January for me. It gives me several months to get it right before we start shooting at live critters

I change mine every 12-14 months, always with 60x threads. They could go longer but that’s just my personal preference.

So, do you do the cables as well?

When I shot more (tournament days) I changed 10 months to a year. Now with just routine practice and hunting I usually go 18 months to 2 years.

Yes, I would always recommend changing out the entire system.

I always change strings with cables as a set. I change mine every year. I shoot a lot but I also have a string sponsor and install/tune myself so that helps. I also usually change bows every year and I never trust strings on a used bow.

I tend to only get 12 months out mine.
Just put on a set of 60X a few months ago and I am very impressed with the quality fit and finish. I think they are having a sale this weekend

I used to change out every year but my current E35 has factory strings on it that are 3 years old. I haven't shot it nearly as much as I have in the past.

I have a brand new set ready to go from Korbins but Kyle at Cinnamon Creek does a **** good job as well

I replaced the strings on my 2013 bow 2 years ago. Went to Cinnamon Creek and had Kyle take care of my bow. Couldn’t be happier with the work he did, well worth it. I think I’m gonna change em out this summer again

I like to change the bow strings on my tournament bows at the start of each year and my hunting bow every other summer. Anything over 5 years should be changed out even if the bow has never fired an arrow.
