Root stimulator for potted tree question

    Braintrust,

I have some Japanese maples in pots. I picked up a few last year and waited till last month to repot. I noticed the roots on a couple of the plants have very poor root structure.

Since they are just now beginning to bud, I don't want to take them out of their containers to soak the roots in the stimulator. I will be using KLN brand.

Can I use the root stimulator mixed to the recommended ratio, and then pour it into the plant container, and let it drain as usual? I think the ratio is one teaspoon to the gallon. Or should I dilute more? Less? Maybe use less water? Or maybe water with the stimulator a few times?

Only doing this with two trees, as the other four seemed to have strong roots.

    Thanks in advance,

    Y

Transplanting & Dividing Plants: Drench newly potted or transplanted plants with a solution of 1 tsp. K-L-N, 1 tsp. Pro-TeKtĀ® and 1 tsp. of any Dyna-Gro™ plant food per gal. of water. Continue applications of K-L-N until plant is established in the new medium. This will insure vigorous and healthy new growth.
