    Ameristep Fading Trouble

Sometime before the changeover to the new site, I remember some people commenting about how their Ameristep blinds are fading to a redish color after being out in the sun for a while.

Sure enough, I have two brickhouses that are starting to turn color after being out for about 3 weeks. Did anyone call customer service and if so, what did they do for you? Did you have to send the blind back to get it replaced? Thanks in advance.

My powerhouse is turning also. I would like to know what others have found out as well.

They will turn a very pretty fuschia color! lol

But...it won't bother the deer. It will fade as they begin to get used to it. I shot a turkey out of one last year, and had deer walk (young ones) right by it, and it was not brushed in, just out in the open.

Deer see red and shades of it as black and greys so it won't bother the deer at all. I have one that has been out, going on two years now, and it has faded a bit but hasn't turned pink.

Good thing is that pigs don't really care about the color.

I have one that is on its way to pink also. Its been out since early Sept. It also has a snapped roof support pole. Has anyone dealt with their customer service?

I just send them a note via their website. Mine has faded, had a pole break, and the pockets that hold the poles have started to tear.

Spray paint black and gray lines with green and brown leaves on the on the faded blinds.

The best way to fix it is get a Double Bull.

I have two and no worries on either. The original doghouse (tangle camo) I bought has been out a total of 9 months. There is one pink spot on the back by the zipper, looks like they may have used different material there and it is pink like the pic above. It's a spot about the size of a dime and on the brushed in side so I'm cool with that. I got a newer Dog House TSC that I have had out since Sept 1st and it is fine, much thicker, better material on that one too...

Can't say yet if it works. For $7.50, it seemed worth a try.
