Turning a Song into a Ringer?

I've got some songs downloaded onto my CPU and want to turn them into ringers for my BlackBerry. Anyone ever done this?

I don't want the whole songs, just certain parts of them. I have Windows Movie Maker. Will this program work? Basically need to edit the song and save it as an mp3 file. Some help from a CPU whiz would be great!! Thanks

You need a sound editor program. There are some free ones that are good and easy to use:

      Audacity

      GoldWave

      WavePad

I use Adobe Audacity most, but it's a paid program. The 3 above will all do more than you need. I like WavePad the best of those 3.

If you have a mini USB cable for your BlackBerry and a non protected song, you can go to makeownringtone.com and upload straight to the sight. Select the clip you want, and then have them send it to your email. They don't ever send you spam. Then download it from the email they send you to your desktop, and then onto your phone. That's what I do with my BlackBerry 8100, and I have made over 100 tones. Not that I use them, but I give them to a lot of people.

I make them for free with garage band software but it's only on the Apple computers. Sounds like some good info above

Thanks man!! Just did my first and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the other ideas too. I still want to be able to do them myself without having to get online.

Thanks. Just added some ringtones to my Blackberry using that site. No email required. Just upload, edit the song and download. Easiest way I have used yet.

Got about 5 new ringers now. Guys, check out that website. If you get e-mail on your phone, it will mail it right to your phone.
