Going on a trip to Cody and Jackson Hole in July. Anyone been with any fly fishing guides up there you would recommend? Going to be a one day trip for 2 probably.

I don't know any guides up there personally. I would call one of the fly shops in Jackson and talk to them. Jack Dennis and High Country Flies were the two I can remember using, but it has been a number of years since I have been there.

Last year we went across the pass from Jackson to Idaho to fish the S. Fork of the Snake. Fished with The Lodge at Palisades Creek. Great Orvis endorsed outfit and we caught big numbers and some big fish.

I hired a guide for my wife and I out of Cody. I called up and spoke with the owner of the Humble Fly shop and he recommended this guy. His name was Scott, sorry I have no more information. Our trip was locked in so weather stopped us from getting on the river. Actually they had a bad snow storm 2 weeks before and the melt had the river way too dangerous to get on. So we did the best we could and took my wife to a pond he had access to and he gave her fly fishing directions until she got good at it. From then on we caught a bunch of fish and had a shore lunch. Wasn't typical of what I wanted but you deal with what you got when you got it.

If anyone ever runs up to Casper I highly recommend taking a drift trip down the North Platte River with the Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Outfitters.

Not sure about Jackson Hole but we fished with Marlows Fly Shop in Dubois, WY a little south of Jackson Hole and had a great trip. I prefer Dubois over Jackson Hole as I’m not a Hugh fan of tourist towns. You can check out the shop and services at www.mflyshop.com. We caught some really nice browns in the Wind River.
