    Exhaust on new gas trucks

In the process of a new to me truck. Everything’s stock on it. I like my trucks to sound like a truck. Right now I have an 05 Sierra with true dual glasspacks. I probably wouldn’t true dual this new truck but plan on a new exhaust. I’m thinking of either a glasspacks with a y pipe or a single in dual out cherry bomb extreme. My question is does anyone know if on these new trucks if changing the exhaust messes with the computer on the truck any? The truck is a 2015 Silverado 5.3. Thanks in advance!

Unless you get a true straight through muffler that does not have perforations inside then you will not gain anything except for sound. Cherry bomb and glass pack mufflers are not smooth on the inside so it will actually decrease the horsepower. Find a Magnafliw or Borla muffler to gain power.

Agree...a good Magnaflow muffler with a nice tip. Keep it as factory looking as possible. Just my thoughts but to each his own.

Hate loud trucks, and unless you get a tuner, your computer will keep any exhaust components from doing anything but change the noise.

Dual is just my preference. Just wondering if it will change anything in the computer of the truck. Not worried about losing horsepower the truck has plenty of that. Mainly for sound is why i do it. Only thing I pull is a boat and a ranger

If you don’t want to risk voiding your warranty with a tune, get one of these. Plugs into the OBD-II port and keeps your truck from going into 4 cylinder mode and sounding like a helicopter...
