Battery charger for gate opener

I’m running power to my Apollo gate opener. Apollo’s battery charger seams to have same specs as a battery tender but is much more expensive. Anyone have a certain charger they use and works well?

I'm running solar, so I'm no help. But I don't see a problem with using a battery tender.

It will be a trickle charger. Make sure you get one with auto off for when the battery is charged. Other wise it will boil the water out. I use only gell cell batteries when I install them because no one (including me) ever checks their gate battery for water.

My Apollo runs on solar and my dads has ran on solar for 25+ years so I'm really no help either.

I have heard of the battery tenders ruining more than one battery.
