I'm sure I don't have to say this, but this is not a typical hog dog training exercise. The ethical hog doggers of TBH do not practice nor do they condone sticking a bunch of pits into a small cage with a single pig. So please keep that in mind when you respond. This is one misguided group of people and does not reflect dog hunters as a whole.

There's a few bad apples in every bunch.
Too bad the media LOVES animal cruelty stories!

We have a similar case right now in Kerr County. I'd look to see a whole lot more of them over the next few years and possible litigation agaist it all together. Be careful what you video and who you show it to.

Yes, very different. A catch dog runs into a bay, grabs an ear and does not let go. There is no mauling, there is no attacking, there is one swift move. You would never train a pit bull to gang up as a pack on a hog because then you'd be SOL in the woods. One ear, one catch, anything else and the hunters and bay dogs get screwed.

Sure, this kind of thing does happen, because there are a lot of morons in the world and it seems like half of them own dogs. But ethical hog doggers that want a dependable catch dog wouldn't do it.

"...it is against the law to cage one animal up and let others tear it to pieces at will.”

"..he added that the vicious attack on the feral hog was a tactic used to teach dogs to fight."

No liberal media slant there, huh?! For all we know, some animal rights activist neighbor reported somebody for workin their hog dogs in a training pen.
