Need a little more information on the truck, but if it’s a 4 door 4x4 I would say around 11-13 on the highway. I have a 2010 with 285 BFGs, and front and rear replacement bumpers. I get 9-10 in town and anywhere from 10-13 on the highway depending on how fast I’m driving. I did just have two new hubs put on the front, so will see if it improves any from the reduction in drag.

2004 3/4 ton 4X4 extended cab. It has been driven hard. It is still going down the road and has somewhere north of 250,000 miles. The youngest has been driving it so not sure where the mileage is now. Been a great truck all the way around. Still pull the stock trailer with it. So far no major repairs needed. They are not overly fuel efficient but have good power and last for ever. I have a 2017 with the same motor. With the cruze set it will get between 16 and 17 which is far better than the old ones but it will drop pretty hard if you put your foot into it.

I have a 2004 2500 4x4 four door with the 6.0 gas. Check to see which rear end it has in it.Mine has 373 gears and I have trouble pulling a 27 foot travel trailer. Replaced the transmission this November. Still struggles to pull the trailer. I get about 11 to 13 miles on the highway without a trailer.

Is it a crew 4x4? Can I have second shot lol? I really like that body style.
Anyway. You really should be more concerned with pitman/idler arm, ball joints, tre's, knock sensor, cracked manifold, water and ps pump than the guts of the 6.0/4l80. That stuff will eat you up. Not that you shouldn't do your due diligence but that engine trans combo has proven itself for years and replacement long blocks are dirt cheap. I'd try and get service records on that stuff and beat them up accordingly
