Just an excuse for an eating problem. Making the stomach smaller does not make you eat better, just eat less

I rolled the dice and went to Mexico and had the sleeve done 2 years ago.
Best decision I have made in a long time.
went from 360 down to 215 in 6 months. I quit trying to loose as I didn't want to be any smaller.
I have stayed between 215 and 220 for the last 18 months. I still make poor food choices but in small doses.
For me anyway, The whole drama of going through the surgery put my head straight and I weigh every day. If I'm weighing in at 215, I can have a couple of beers in the evening. If I'm at 220, no beer for me until i loose a couple of pounds.

So far it has worked for me

        Man, that's real helpful!!

For those who may be interested or just don't know the differences, this is the procedure the OP said he's having done:

The RNY has NO incisions were the stomach is cut away, or anything else. It is done with staples plus the "plumbing" is rerouted in the small intestine to reduce the adsorbtion rate of digested food. Of the various methods, it is the lowest risk of post-surgery "issues" I think, BUT for all intensive purposes is irreversible. The sleeves, bands, etc. are reversible.

OP, good luck with your surgery!

The RNY is reversible as nothing is removed, just replumbed. The Gastric sleave isnt because they remove part of the stomach. The Lap Band is just not good and my surgeon wont even do them anylonger. Dont let people scare you. Do what your doctor tells you and use it as the tool its ment to be. Notice I didnt say cure, that parts on you.
