My father-in-law had some panels he wasn't using so I thought I'd steal em! I plan on leaving the gate open for a few days and see what the ol' camera will tell me. So, how did I do? Be gentle please.
How does the gate on it work when you set it? Will they just push it open and then can't get back out or is there a "trip wire" to hold it open?
Roscoe it is wired open in that pic. Normally the right end of the panel lays against the left side when closed....they push it open to get in and its rigidity keeps it closed so they cant get back out.
Looks good. But if I were you, I would beef it up with a few more t-posts, and be sure to wire the bottom of the panel to the post. The hogs will want to lift the bottom of the panel with their nose when they cant get out or if there is any corn around the panel.
Also, be prepared to repair that feeder. They might knock it over when they are in there. We used a hanging feeder from a tree a lot and it worked well.
It is a TRAP. The gate is the panel in the picture on the left. It is only tied down on one end. The pigs push it open and then it closes behind them and they cannot get back out.

Eagle
don't you mean the panel on the right of the opening is the gate...
They work well, we have two of them on our place, you may want to put a top on it, we have had some big hogs actually break out of these traps, looked like a bull dozer got ahold of them, had an 8 point buck in there last week because we had tied door open, we got him out of there without injury.
