Hog with no ears

Out of the hundreds we have killed, I killed one tonight with no ears.
About 150 lb boar.
No even a numb.

Maybe hog dogs chewed them off or does it look like the hog was born without them?

Ive had one on camera for four years i swear has no ears either. Never seen him in daylight til last few weeks on camera

Man, the rooting here in the past couple of weeks is amazing.
Soft ground and hungry big hogs. But nocturnal.
Caught this one on a corned toad in the light mist about 6 pm
Easy shot off sticks with my .270 130 fed fusions. Quartering at me took the shot right behind where his ear should have been
Stunk badly. Hope find a sow this morning.

I killed one a couple weeks ago with half a tail and looks like I have missing one ear on camera

Some folks will catch them and castrate the boars and Bob tails and cut off parts of ear(s) but the one I killed was only missing part of tail

Yea its a way of marking..seen a few (will make you look twice) UGLY...killed one..Back when I trapped on lease. If I caught a boar of managable size that I didnt want to process I would DE-KNOT him and release..but that was the only mark I put on him..

Did it have ear canals? Brother killed one few years back without ears but it also didn’t have ear holes/canals. Same pig walked right past me in brush a month earlier as I was making all kind of noise setting up a stand. He was healthy and fat otherwise, clearly he had no problem making a living.
