    Bow String

What's the average life of a bow string?

    #2
I would guess two years or more if taken care of.

Is it measured in shots or years?

I think it would be tough to count shots but I guess you could.

Well I agree but think it would be an approximate #. If it was in years many people shoot a lot more than others in a year

In a normal year I shoot a lot. But no matter, I still get new strings every year. Heck, with the price of todays bows, string are real cheap...

does it affect your sights or accuracy when you get a new string?

Yes, you have to "shoot them in" according to proshop guys. Makes since to me, as you'll get a little stretch after 100 or 150 shots, even with the best strings. Or so I'm told, I'm no pro.

The better the string the fewer the shots or so I'm told.
