    Computer help

I have a Dell laptop with Windows 10. It's less than 2 years old. It shows it's connected to WiFi with internet access. I have tried different wifi and hardwired connections. Every time I pull up a web page it shows

    Hmm...cant reach this page
Make sure you got the right web address
Search for " " on Bing
    Refresh the page
    Details
There was a temporary DNS error. Try refreshing the page
    Error code: INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND

I have googled resource not found and it said to change DNS to 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4. After that it would just say identifying, so I set it back to auto. I've read to try chrome and somehow I got that downloaded and I get a similar error code. It won't even connect to iTunes. My wife has already bought a new computer so this isn't our primary computer anymore, but I would still like to get it working. Any ideas?

you can try to update the wifi driver, on occasion during updates they don't get installed correctly.

Go to settings, open device manager.
expand network adapters and right click the wifi interface, select delete driver.
reboot laptop with it connected via hardwire and it will install the latest update when it connects.

Who’s your internet provider? Some isp will not connect to windows 10. It will sit there and spin all day and will not open your page

If other devices connect to the same network with no issues then the ethernet hardware in your laptop has possibly died.

Get a usb wireless or ethernet adapter and try that.

I had the same issue with an old laptop and that's how I fixed it.

You also could of picked up a virus that changed your browser settings to look for a proxy and/or made an entry into your lmhost and host file pointing to your loopback address which would prevent the internet from working and causing weird issues.

Open a command prompt (From the search bar type CMD)

In the command prompt window type ping 8.8.8.8

            See what you get

Sounds like a driver issue to me

Open internet explorer by clicking the windows logo and then search internet explorer. Not sure if this will be the same for edge. Top left cornet of IE click the gear icon, then go to internet options. I can't open it on my computer so I might be a little off here. Go to the connections tap, then LAN settings. If USE A PROXY SERVER is checked, uncheck it.

Ok thanks for the help. I left my laptop at work today so I'll try all this when I get a chance.
