Nexus Rehabilitation Center in Shenandoah, TX

Hey guys. Thank you all for your prayers for my father. He is improving every day. We were just informed that he is ready to be moved to a rehabilitation facility just outside of The Woodlands called Nexus. I'm hoping somebody has had an experience, good or bad, to set my mind at ease about the decision we are about to make for my dad. The reviews, although few, are not very positive and I am very concerned about where we are about to release him to. Any input is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

My mother in law is a medical director and said that this is a top notch facility. Prayers for your father to make a full recovery!

Thank you for the input. I have 2 hospitals to visit before 9 am in the morning. Cornerstone in conroe is another option. They charge nurse said they would not release my dad to anyone unless we are comfortable to I guess I'll have to see how I feel about the facilities. Like my dad always says...it's he'll getting old!

The facility my dad was in didn't have good reviews on yelp but the hospital staff recommended them as did a friend and we were VERY happy with it.

That's the thing about reviews. People who have what they deem a negative experience don't hesitate to air their grievances, whereas people with a positive experience are happy and go on their way without giving a review.

I went to both the nexus and cornerstone facilities first thing this morning. Nexus was dark, dreary, and smelled musty. The staff manager looked like a scroungy Santa in scrubs. The vibe was awful, like a place where someone would go into depression and give up. Cornerstone was great. The CEO came out to give me the tour, and the first words out of her mouth were "tell me about your dad". The facility was clean and bright. The staff was happy and friendly. And it's 20 minutes closer for my mom. He is being moved now and I really feel like we made the right call with cornerstone. Thank you again for your prayers and input!
